Chapter 1441:
Hadley offered him a glass of green juice. “Who are you going to call?” she asked casually.
“Ernest,” Eric replied, taking a sip of the juice, his gaze open and honest.
“Is everything alright?” Hadley inquired.
“Yeah.” Eric nodded, a slight frown creasing his brow. “It’s about Linda.”
“Oh,” Hadley responded, her enthusiasm visibly dimming.
“Don’t misunderstand,” Eric said, noticing her shift in mood. “Ernest and | are making arrangements for Linda to
see a doctor.”
“A doctor?” Hadley looked up, a thought forming in her mind. “Is it about her leg injury?”
“Yeah,” Eric confirmed. “We've been exploring potential solutions.”
Linda was still young, after all. As long as even a glimmer of hope existed, they couldn't simply accept her being
confined to a wheelchair for life.
“So...” Hadley gestured toward his phone. “Did that call bring positive news?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Kind of,” Eric replied. “We've found a reputable doctor, but the success of the treatment is never certain.”
Especially now, as a patient himself, he understood more acutely that life and death were beyond anyone's
control. No matter how skilled, no doctor could guarantee a positive outcome.
He continued, “This doctor practices in Aradimen.”
Surprise flickered across Hadley’s face. “Are you planning to send Linda to Aradimen for treatment?” she asked
tentatively.
“Yeah,” Eric confirmed, finishing his green juice as he spoke.
Hadley offered him a napkin, a slight frown creasing her brow. “Do you think Linda will agree to go to Aradimen?”

“What?” Eric looked surprised. “It’s for treatment—why would she object?”
“That's not a certainty,” Hadley snapped, her brow lifting in defiance. “What if she suspects you're using the
treatment as an excuse just to get rid of her?”
“What?” Eric looked surprised and a little uncertain. “She wouldn't think that, would she?”
Hadley shrugged, dropping the topic and encouraging him to eat. “Con, eat. You shouldn't take your
medication on an empty stomach.”
“Alright,” Eric replied.
Turning his attention to his breakfast, Eric ate in silence. As he was halfway through his meal, his phone rang
again—Ernest was calling.
Eric answered the phone immediately. “Hello, Ernest...”
Over the phone, Eric recounted his
