Chapter 347: Medium
Tracy knew that there was no point in losing her temper with the brainless lycan. She was the one at fault for
trusting in his authority and capability to follow simple instructions. Of course, it couldn't be blamed on him
alone, but who would have expected that the lycan heir would make a mistake such as following the directions
given to him by an old app?
Even when it was not his fault, Tracy wanted to kick him in the face.
She walked through the gates of the prison. Usually, she would never intervene with the shifters and their course
of actions, but curse her for owing it to Inez’s father. She owed this much to that motherfucker, even if he was
one tricky thing to deal with. The doors banged against the wall, making the two security guards behind the
reception of the prison jump to their feet. They eyed her carefully, but Tracy didn’t even bat an eye in their
direction.
She should have done a better job. Maybe left a bunch of aegis around her, ones that would have gone awry the
second someone approached Inez with a bad intention. They were complicated to make, but they had simpler
tasks. A single mistake, and whoever approached Inez with harmful intent would explode in countless pieces of
flesh, blood and bones. Aegis were the magical equivalent of human landmines. One wrong step and then—
boom!
They were not very subtle, but who the heck likes subtle?
"Who are you and why are you barging in like this?" The man at the reception slowly got to his feet. He was
eyeing her warily as if he knew something was about to go down, and he was correct about that. Something was
about to go down. This very building.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIf the king of the seas found out that she allowed his daughter to be trapped in the prison, that man would lose
his shit. He had ssoft spots for Inez as she was his first daughter. Of course, if he could get out of wherever
he was at the moment.
Tracy cut him off with just one look. "Inez Sinclair and her sister— | think she is called Barlet or something?
Where are the two of them? Don’t even think about tellingthat they were taken to the execution grounds, or
else | will kill you all. Slowly at that."
The security officers were looking at Tracy as if they had run into their biggest trouble of the day. Of course, they
were not truly happy for the big adventure because they didn’t get paid enough for this shit. Their hands shifted
towards their batons, and they squared their shoulders. The whole tthey continued to look at her, but at the
stthey pretended that they were not looking at her. There was this —we are not looking at you, even if
we are holding the electric batons in our hands—thing going on, but Tracy didn’t have the tto waste with
these shifters. She was just that worried about Inez.
Realising that there was no point in questioning the receptionist of the prison, she spun on her heels and then
headed right towards the dungeons. A quick glance at the security guards who were now simply dumbstruck by
her actions. Most probably, they couldn't believe their eyes that there was someone as bold as Tracy, who would
dare to walk right past them as if they never existed. Like their authority didn’t matter, and it didn’t honestly.
Of course, it didn’t sit well with the two men. They slowly walked toward her, their cheap cologne wafting off to
her along with the scent of their chipped egos. Ohohoho, someone was hurt. One of the guards walked over to
her and reached out to stop her, the other, on the other hand, was holding the baton that he pointed behind her
shoulder.
"I don’t know who you are looking for, but unless you have the authority, you cannot meet with anyone, Ma’am,"
said Mr Muscles. "I need you to return to the reception so we can arrange something for you and your dear
friends."
Of course, Tracy was not going to stop. She was not a fan of holding or creating appointments. Especially when
she knew that they meant nothing in the shifter world. They were forgetful creatures who would send her away
again and again until she lost her patience. Had been there, done that. Not anymore.
She ducked under the arm of the guard and walked past him, only for her path to be blocked by the other guard.
Mister Lean glared at her. "Ma’am, you need to cout with us—"
The man didn’t even get a chance to finish as Tracy snapped her fingers. At once, the three men...flew
backwards. Hitting the wall behind them, and slowly crumpled down on the floor. They tried to get back up, but
they were pinned to the floor. The man working as the receptionist opened his eyes wide. He looked as if he had
finally realised what she was, and he opened his mouth to scream out loud, so she had to gag him.
